The countdown to the eighth series of Love Island is on.
And even some of the showbiz circuit’s most esteemed names are partial to a fix of the British dating show, which returns on Monday night with Laura Whitmore at the helm.
English model Cara Delevingne and American stand-up comedian Amy Schumer are among the famous admirers of the ITV2 dating show, with 29-year-old Cara admitting she envies Laura’s job.

The show’s host, 37, told New Magazine: ‘Cara is a huge fan and she’s messaged me a lot about it.
“She was on a film set one day and messaged me with a picture of where she was, saying,“ I’m so jealous of what you’re doing. ” I was like, “I’m so jealous of what you’re doing!”
‘She said,’ No, no, no, what you’re doing is a million times cooler! ”

Meanwhile, Irishwoman Laura, who is married to the provider of the witty Love Island voiceover Iain Sterling, recalled how she was interviewing Amy, 40, on a video call for a new TV series before the conversation turned to Love Island.
A minute into the interview, Amy, who hosted this year’s Oscars, turned to Laura and said, ‘I’m really sorry, but are you Laura Whitmore from Love Island?’
‘We only had six minutes to talk and we just talked about Love Island. We didn’t talk about her show at all and then the time was up! That was really funny, ‘Laura remembered.

The line-up for Love Island 2022 has been revealed and among those hoping to find the one in the villa are the show’s first ever deaf contestant, Michael Owen’s daughter and a fishmonger who took a girl on a private plane for their first date.
The eighth series of the show is set to return to screens on Monday June 6, with this year’s islanders moving into a brand new villa in Mallorca.
Leading the way are model Tasha Ghouri, 23, footballing legend Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma, 19, and fishmonger Luca Bish, 23.
